    Oh Crap!!!

I paid Origin for electricity that I don't need to pay for, instead of paying SA Water for water use on our rental property

Was wondering why I have received a notice of demand from SA Water when I was certain I had paid the bill, I had just to the damn wrong person!!! AurghhhhhH!!!!!!

Now to call them in the morning to see what to do, and it was over $300, as our stupid tennant have gone nuts with water over the quarter, and considering our bill was for the same amount, but in that period we filled a 70,000 litre pool, so they have used a crap load of water

Mumble mumle... I'm blaming baby brain, and the fact that I paid it the day I lost Flickers twin

Hopefully Origin will understand and refund you the money.... I don't suppose a credit is much use to you now since they basically have to pay you for electricity!
Totally understandable though - you've got so much on your mind at the moment
    ps. Love the name Firefly

Thanks girls, I hope so!! We do have an agreement with Origin about getting cheques for credit for our electricity for our current property but I may have paid our old account, which is the rental property (as I have them as nicknames) for each property, so hopefully as the account doesn't technically exist anymore I wonder....

Paid it the day I lost Firefly too, so not surprised I did something so silly!
Thanks, it came to me this afternoon, finally something that just seemed perfect and fitting

If they really give you a hard time don't hesitate to go to the Energy & Water Ombudsman, we had a massive blue with Origin early in the year and suddenly after going to EWON and sorting it out we were given our own "relationship manager"!

I often do that with Telstra. We have 3 accounts, home and 2 mobiles. I can sometimes pay 1mobile twice.

A $300 water bill is huge are you sure you don't have a leak?? We got a $400 water bill last 1/4 and turned out we had a leak, the water company refunded the full amount once we got the leak repaired. Might be worth checking with the tenants even a running toilet can lose that much water.

    Good luck!!

I spoke with Origin, they are sending me out a cheque, should arrive within the week!!!

Spoke with SA Water and have paid the bill using some mmoney I had put away, which I will replace with the cheque when it arrives

Thanks Pix, lucky they were all really good about it and also had a laugh with me

I have done that before Astrid, I now have them being direct debited form my account so I don't screw it up

Jaffaz, yes it is very high, considering our was the same (almost) and we filled our new pool I have left a message with my agent and I will be passing on the overusage costs to the rental people, as it is just way over the top IMHO, especially as we have had a mild summer...
