So is the babe fully engaged? It could just be pre-labour ... sometimes that can last for weeks.
I feel silly for asking and think i'm being paranoid - since my dr told me he thought i'd go into labour early, any little thing that happens i think its starting...but now i'm even more paranoid.
All afternoon i've had this dull period pain feeling low in my pelvis. It comes and goes. It feels different to the braxton hicks i've been having since early on.
It also is a different feeling to needing to go to the toilet. I haven't lost my plug and haven't had my waters break either.
I'm going to keep an eye on it - I don't want to mention it yet to DH as he'll tell me i'm being paranoid. Can BH feel like this or could this be a sign of something else????

sounds like it could be pre-labour or early labour!
And don't feel silly - thats what we're here for!!![]()
That does sound like pre-labour to me, but remember pre-labour can go on for weeks. Keep an eye on things and if you are worried, even if it is just a feeling that something is happening, then give your midwife a call and get it checked out.
Sounds like my pre-labour I had with DD2, which lasted 4 weeks![]()
I'll keep an eye on it for the rest of the night and see how it goes.
Thanks girls.
If you start getting noticable contractions, or your water breaks then definitely head up to the hospital.
The entire time I had pre-labour DD2 was 3/5 engaged, by the time I went into labour all I needed was for my waters to break for her to arrive!
Hoping its just prelabour mate (as annoying as it is!) but it usually equals quick labours ... so that might be a good thing?
Don't feel silly for asking..
With DS, I ended up calling the hospital in tears about 1.30 in the morning cause I had this 'period pain' coming and going. By the time I got to the hospital, I was contracting every 3 to 4 mins and I had no idea what it was
But if you think it is something, call the hospital, they will be the best to advise you.
I have had the light period like pain on and off a few times now, but wasn't really painful, if hat makes sence. I've been told prelabour can start early and go on for weeks in your 2nd and so on preg, so hopefully thats all it is for you. Are you having tighenings with it??
The hospital is only ever a call away. GL with it all.
Dont feel silly for asking darl, i agree it sounds like pre-labour and like lots of the previous posters have said it can go on for weeks!
Goodluck x
Ok update... yes... i know... still being paranoid...
so for the last 24 hours i've had lots of back pain and lower period pain. This is in regular patterns. Happens every 5 - 8mins for about 20 - 30secs at a time. Today, i've been having heaps of diarohea (sp? ) TMI I know and intense pressure in my pelvis that feels like i'm going to wet myself if/when I stand up and I can hardly walk. Baby is still moving heaps ATM - do they stop moving so much towards the end??
I sound like a first time mum who's never done this before..
maybe I should see my dr earlier than monday???
I would maybe give your Dr a call and explain the new pains... If it's hard to walk and you feel like you need the toilet it can be a sign of early labour.
With DD1 i constantly felt like i needed to pee.
GL hun.
They do keep moving until they've literally run out of room in there. With bub moving heaps still that's a good sign. If you're not feeling comfortable with what's going on, then definitely see your gp earlier than Monday. It certainly sounds like pre-labour, but always a good thing to get it checked out if you're unsure.Baby is still moving heaps ATM - do they stop moving so much towards the end??
Hey Sunshine
I had period cramping and pain for weeks before i had bubs, it got stronger as the time got closer but i did have pre labour for weeks before my real labour began
Diarrhoea is often consistent with onset of labour, the regular lower pelvic pains on their own could easily be explained by pre-labour, but the two combined sound like it's a good chance it could be labour. At 33 weeks I don't know that start of labour would necessarily coincide with a slowing of baby's movements, so I'd be getting checked out ASAP if I were you.
Personally I'd be more inclined to go straight into hospital rather than see your GP because if bubs is on its way a bit early they'll be better prepared to look after a premmie if need be. If you are in early labour your GP is just going to send you straight to hospital anyway. How far away from the hospital are you?
I agree with Suse, I'd go get checked sooner. I had weeks of pain and discomfort prior to having DD2, I had period type pains on/off for hours. I also had heaps of movements even up to the day she was born! My pre-labour started around 36 weeks and she came at EDD + 13 days! So it may just be your body leading up to it, but having said that, its best to get checked out as soon as you can in case your bub wants to come sooner!
