    natural food colourings for icing etc...

    do they exist??

    im heading to the health food shop todya but thought id as it you can buy them???

    I'm pretty sure Queen make an all natural food colouring but have no idea where to buy it.

    Olive, I've just googled and found a site called healthy kids dot com dot au who sell natural food colourings AND hundreds and thousands

    They're a tad exxy though.

    cochineal = pink
    turmeric = yellow
    cocoa = brown (haha obviously)

    These are the only ones I know, but you can get them at your regular supermarket.

    Oh, just remembered - sometimes ppl use beetroot for pink colouring but I'm pretty sure you'd get a bit of beety taste with it.

    thanks ladies!!

    tinks i found some at the health food shop, $6.50 a colour
    found the queens ones at the superamrket $8 for 4 colour so i got them !

    MD my mum suggested beetroot for pink!!

    you can use pomegranate juice for red too...might taste a little nicer that beetroot LOL

    I know this is an old thread, but i thought I'd pop on with something I found in a search.
    They're called Hoppers natural colourings and they make sprinkles/100's and 1000's too, all with no artificial colours/preservatives.
    They are $6 a jar, but if you use them, then they're worth it.
