I need an action plan for stains on cream carpet..

Ok, so we have moved into a house with lovely cream carpet in the loungeroom and bed rooms.. (Why, I have no idea!) I need an action plan for when something gets spilled as it is bound to sooner or later (although hopefully later).. I haven't had a house with carpet for yonks so I need to know what is good.. I am really going to try and avoid drinks aside from water in the carpeted areas, especially with DSS but I don't want to be so pedantic (sp?) and freak out if DP has a bourbon or a soft drink while on the lounge watching telly.. It could become a real PITA.. Sorry for the ramble any suggestions...

PMSL I have just been googling for this as we speak, I need to get texta and crayon off the carpet, d'oh. I have seen alot of people mention metho, baby wipes and orange power spot remover. Also Preen Oxy Action Stain remover. Gonna try as much as I can!!!

Good luck with that! That's why I want something on hand thats good, so hopefully as soon as the mark or spill happens I can get onto right away..

i've recently discovered 'Stain Magic' from the reject shop and used it on my cream lounge, it worked perfectly....even removed texta.

the bottle says for carpet and upholstery

it was very easy to use...spray on and dab off
