    Weight Watchers whilst pregnant?

Can you continue doing WW when pregnant? Do they have a "pregnant" program you can follow? I have emailed the head office but havent got a reply. Its been over a week, so I'm assuming they arn't going to reply.

    ETA: I stand corrected lol
    however...

There is no impediment to weight loss and physical activity whilst pregnant (if you are a normal risk pregnancy)
You can safely lose weight during pregnancy also, your health in pregnancy is not about weight and fat, but nutritional intake.

They have a breastfeeding program but that is all..

    Good luck!

Im not too sure but i know when i signed up online (before falling pg) it asked me if i was pregnant, not sure what it would have said if i clicked yes? Maybe try sign up online ticking yes for being pregnant and see where it takes you?

    What Didi said.
i had to quit WW when I fell pregnant, but you can do it when you are breastfeeding, and after your 6 week check.

Hi, a whiile back I looked as signing up for WW on line before I was pregnant and I ticked the pg button and it says you can't do it. I then called all the weight loss programs and the only one you can do while pregnant is Sure Slim, it's expensive so I am not doing any program at the moment, once I have bubs I will do somethign I think, maybe Jenny Craig if I cant' be bothered making food / cooking and if I am feeling more motivated I might count calories again or join WW.

Oh I did call them but must have forgot what they said as they don't do vegetarian meals. That would be a great program for pregnancy as you don't have to even buy the food it's delivered to your door!

the thing with any weight loss system is that there is a restriction of calories to help you to loose weight and when your body is creating new life I don't think it is a good idea to limit what you eat. I think it is important to be aware of what you are eating and listen to your body, know when you are hungry as opposed to say bored/upset etc....

You can still apply the principles of WW and make sure you are choosing healthy filling foods (salad on wholegrain bread for instance) as oppose to chips etc.... this way you are giving your body everything it needs without going crazy and having a lot more work to do once baby is here.

    Hope that make sense

The thing with lite n easy is that it is not a weight loss system itself necessarily - they offer different calorie intake programmes and you choose which is applicable to you. Plust you can add extra meals and snacks to any programme you choose.
They do not ask if you are pregnant or breastfeeding or anything else- it is an entirely "at your own risk" system iykwim.

kelebek - yeah, i understand completley. Im not looking to "diet" as such when (if) i fall pregnant. Its more to keep my weight under control. I was hoping WW could help keep me on track so to speak as I had severe P.E lastime (i believe my weight was the cause for this) and next time I am trying for a VBAC, the more i gain, the less likley i get my VBAC.

I think I "should" be able to do it by myself for 40 weeks or so. Just putting into practice the stuff I already know and making the best choices when it comes to food and exercise. When i was preg with DD, i ate what i liked and i hardly did any exercise which resulted in an almost 30kg gain by the end of the pregnancy.

I will look into lite and easy, i havent read much about them, thanks xo

I know someone who did it - without meetings or anything, just at home using their own "points" system - they worked out their points rate differently to normal - it was 2 or 3 extra per day to account for the additional calorie needs.
    Other alternatives:
Skinny B!tch Bun in the Oven (if you're into their philosophy, which I am)
What to Eat When You're Expecting
Any number of other books on nutrition in pg.

So even if you dropped WW while pg, you could stick to one of these programs and be on a maintenance stage.
