any tips on how to get my dd2 to drink cows milk? trying to get her off formula... (currently she only has one bottle a day and breast other times). i dont want to keep buying formula.
If she's a year old you can drop the formula and replace it with water. AFAIK if she doesn't like cow's milk it's no biggy just so long as she's into something else with calcium. Cheese, yoghurt, salmon and sardines all have calcium.
You could hide it in porridge and smoothies.
Have you tried her on goat's milk? It smells like goat's armpit to me but one of my boys loves it.
Keep offering cow's milk but she might never like it. I didn't until I was adult and even now I only like it uber fresh and cold.
Lots of cultures don't drink it and their children seem to thrive.
My DD was a boob or water girl for a long long time. She eventually took cow's milk at around 16-17 months (weaned at 15 months) after she stole her brother's Milo one day! It probsbly wasn't the best introdution to milk & it took a while for her to have it plain, but all good now at 22 months.
