    Question Rent assistance questions

Does someone know what % of FTB a/b I need to be recieving before i'm eligable for rent assistance??
We just got a letter in the mail saying they are increasing in our rent by $25 a week and it starts the day I go on maternity leave
Thinking we might have to look at moving if we won't get it or enough to at least cover the extra increase.
I'm really P.O about it because they have done NOTHING in the house in over 12 months to improve or maintain anything in the house and interest rates are still low. I budgeted for the rent we pay now - not this big of an increase!!!

I think you would nearly have to be getting the full amount? It would still be based on your DH's income as well I think. Just give them a quick ring or have a look online and find out for certain

I think it comes in under the FTB calculations? Mine is paid with my FTB, & when I filled that part of the estimate out it did ask for amount of rent paid

All i did was enter all our pay details and how much rent/ CS we pay and when it told me what FT we would qualify for it broke it down into A, B & Rent Assistance?

rent assistance is the same as ftb - if you're eligible for more than base rate ftb (part A only) you'll be eligible for rent assistance. the amount is on a sliding scale depending on income, number of children, partnered status etc. i'd be checking out the estimator for an accurate estimate. when you do the ftb estimator, it asks about your living arrangements and calculated it automatically
