    Dropping morning nap?

DD hasn't gone down for a morning nap for the last 2 weeks. I have followed usual routine and if I do get her down she wakes up 2 minutes later and is fully energised. It hasn't been through lack of trying and it's really starting to frustrate me.

At what age is it usually they drop morning naps? I think she's too young but she really doesn't want to sleep. She's always needed less sleep then recommended unless about to have a growth spurt. Has anyone else had this issue?

Also she seems to want her afternoon nap an hour earlier then she used to but won't have any issues settling of a night unless reflux is really bad. Doesn't seem to get tired at all but I do

    Thanks in advance!

Yep my DD was the same. she dropped her morning nap at 11 months and now has one big 3-3.5 hr sleep from about midday

My DS started showing signs of dropping to one sleep around 11 months, and by 12 months had well and truly dropped to one sleep. He used to do one sleep at 9, the other around 2 - now he goes down between 11-11.30am. He's only sleeping for 1.5 hours so far though (am hoping that will change!).

They're all different. Natty didn't drop her morning sleep until about 14-15 months. But she ditched her day sleeps altogether at around 2.5 years, earlier than her little mates (some of whom still sleep for a couple of hours in the day. Ooooh, how serene... ).
I'd keep plugging away - all will be revealed. She will either go back to how she was or she will drop it. I found with Natty that she just sorted herself out, really. Hopefully you find that if she does drop it she will have one lovely big day sleep (which I actually found easier! You can plan your day better and get quite a lot done). GL.

Thanks for the prompt replies ladies. I really hope in a way she has just dropped it. It'd be much less frustrating if so. always been a wretched day sleeper as it is and sleeps max an hour if she does go down. If she sleeps more then 2 hous in the day she sucks to get down of a night. Right now is quite happily playing next to me without grumpiness so I'm guessing she doesn't need a nap Well, time for me to do all the noisy housework then.

Those who's babies nap over lunch. when do they eat?

I try to give DS something to eat before he goes down for a sleep - a sort of 'mini-lunch'. This doesn't always happen though - like this morning he fell asleep in the pram when we went out for a walk, so he just went straight down. Same usually happens if we've been out and he falls asleep in the car on the way home. But if I can, I give him food beforehand, and then something when he wakes up too.

:yeahthat: - i give DD "brunch" or a bigger breakfast depending on her wake up time...she gets up anywhere between 7am and 9am so if its 7am i'll give her a light breakfast then follow with the brunch option at about 11am. But if its 9am i give her a bigger breakfast so that if she does get sleepy by midday/12.30pm and hasn't had food at least she's had a good breakfast to tide her over until dinner which for her now is between 4.30-5.00pm - sometimes though she's not tired at midday so i give her lunch then and then put her down for her nap at about 1.00-1.30pm - it all depends on her!
