Dilemma - Ergo or Ergo Sport

I love my close baby carrier however I really only like it for when bubs is sleeping around the house.

I'm thinking an ergo is our next step as he is awake more, getting heavier and I like the idea of eventually wearing him on my back rather than front.

However I'm torn between an Ergo and an Ergo Sport. One thing I didn't love with the CBC was how hot we both got when wearing it. So I'm thinking an Ergo Sport as the fabric is lighter.

However I'm after your views - what do people like about their Ergo? Or if you have tried both that would be even better!

    Cheers,
    Fiona

I have the ordinary Ergo, not the Sport one and I LOVE it . I also found the Close Carrier to be too hot, but the Ergo is fine because bub isn't as firmly against you IYKWIM. I haven't tried the Sport one so I can't help you there unfortunately. I don't think you could go too wrong either way though. You won't regret buying one!

I've had both. At the moment I have the sport one, because I was living in Queensland when I got it, and the normal one was far too hot with the canvas material compared to the thinner cotton type material of the sport. Also, DH wanted to wear the kids, and the sport has longer straps, so he can fit into it, can't fit into the standard one. (He is 6 foot 7)

However, the sports one is harder to get on, the straps twist more easily because they are thinner material, and I need help getting it on - mostly because I have tennis elbow at the moment, and can't really move my arm, but they really twist for me and I crack the poos and don't wear it. So I hate my sports ergo at the moment for this reason.. LOL

Also, the sleeping hood on the sports ergo clips onto the shoulder straps, and its PITA when you are by yourself because they can be quite fiddly. On the standard ergo they snap on, which is MUCH easier to do by yourself.

I'm actually swapping my sports ergo with someone who has a normal ergo, because since I live in tassie now - don't exactly get hot weather down here as much as Qld...

I have tried both but use the Sport. It is 20% lighter and a bit more of a compact design.
You can get 100% cotton Ergos though - which breathe better than the Sport.

Both are comfy though, and like Trish said, you can't much go wrong with either
