    Help me please

DS's school bag was full of rotten fruit and mouldy sandwiches.

I've washed it in the washing machine but it still stinks. How can I get rid of the stench?

Make him wipe it out with tea-tree oil.

Put some bicarb soda in it to absorb the smell?

Line the whole thing with bi carb, rub it into the fabric and leave it for 24 hours, then give it a good scrub with a brush and water... and then a wipe down with some disinfectant, then rinse again (even a soak and repeat if necessary) and leave outside in the sun. Anything left after that should crust and fall off and the smell should go. If there is a smell it's because there is still mould and gross stuff embedded in the fabric.

Glad I'm not the only one. DD2 left an apple to go lovely in her bag.
Thankfully it was in the waterproof section, so I just hosed it out, but I haven't smelt it again...or even looked at it since...
    Not sure I want to!

Fresh mint can sometimes absorb smells.
This was the only way we could get the smell of vomit out of our car.
