I was about 9 when changes started happening, AF didn't arrive until I was 12 though
Dudie knocked us on our feet not long ago. Out of the blue he pipes up and says
Ive got hairs on my penis
My baby is starting puberty
I really hsouldnt be surprised. Ive noticed how he has 'changed' his attitude, his presences and become calmer, more reserved. Ive also noticed how dame hair he's knee's have become and how he checks out his appearance in the mirror now.
BUT
he's only 9!!!!!!!!
When does it start??? I was 14..J man was really young and cant remember exactly when. I cant believe it..its bloody depressing me![]()

I started getting pubic hair and underarm hair really young, it was about 9 years of age, but AF didn't start till the month after my 13th birthday.
I was horribly embarrassed about the hair. Mum taught me to shave my underarms and I was mortally afraid of my sister blabbing at school. However I do remember by Year 6 a lot of other girls were starting to shave their underarms (I was so relieved I was no longer the only one), which would have been age 11.
It was last year, so about 11 when my son started having mood swings. DD started at 10. DS is 12 and hasn't started physically changing yet, but is almost there. DD is 11 and is starting to develop breasts.
It's quite a sad time for me as a mother. I'm realising their innocence is coming to an end and I just want to hold on to them as 'babies' forever......OMG I am such a sooky lala I have tears in my eyes writing this![]()
I was 9/10 when i got AF and all the special hair everywhere lol
its so young isnt it,such a shame i wish it didnt happen that young
mum said i started going through early puberty in grade 3 (whenever that was!) - so pretty damn young.
i think cody si going through it early stages and he is 9![]()
hair growth and breasts started growing for me at 9-10 and AF at 11...I was the first girl in my class to get my period and I was terrified, but all my friends thought I was super cool and grown up and wanted to know all about it![]()
I needed 1st bra in grade 6 so I was 11, started getting hair around dame time but No AF till nearly 16.
I started wearing bras and having to shave my legs at 10, and I got AF at 11. Completely different to my sister who didn't have to do any of that till she was 15.
Maz, it could still be some time before he starts to really experience puberty and it can take up to 4 years to complete, but yes, it is starting for himFor me, I started getting pubic hair at around 10 and could easily have worn a bra at that age too, but I resisted that till I was around 11. DH said once that he was closer to 13, he was a late bloomer. One of my brothers was around 10 as well and by 13 the poor kid was completely covered in thick black hair, even all over his back.
Thats pretty young but I have taught a girl who had AF in Yr4 poor kid.
DD2 is 10 and has no signs of puberty but DD1 didn't get AF until 14 1/2 so she may be later like her.
this makes me really sad...if it sounds like alot of kids are around 10/11 so I really only have 6 years or so of little girlness from my DD left...they just grow up so fast

Sorry to dig up an old thread - but I said to DP last night, i give DD 2 yrs and AF will arrive. We both have noticed her attitude change. I have noticed her breast buds developing, ans she has been wearing deodorant for a while now. I've also noticed the weight gain and the roundness of her thighs and hips itms? DD is only 8.
Thinking of it now, I was actually wearing a B cup at age 10! my first AF was in yr 5, which would have made me almost 11 (B'day at the end of the yr)
It goes wayy too fast tho!
NINE!!!! My oldest is 8.... NINE!!! NO WAY! I was just saying to Dh that it wont be long before our boys start to notice girls.. Dh in his typical style said Oh no, we wont get any of that for YEARS! LOL My poor unexposed DH. One can only hope the boys take after him.. Come to think of it I hope the girl takes after him too & not me LOL
My dd started around 9, she got af in grade 5 age 11, far to young if you ask me but what can you do about it um not a thing.
I couldnt believe it at the time and its hard to believe my girl is now 14...
Yep...its started.
Since I posted this thread Ive had to dye his hair...he is doig the ' i know what your talking about and want to join in as if Im an adult' thinbg
He has hairy arms and knee's...I havent 'looked' down there...god Im to scared to now![]()
