    Unhappy Puberty..when did it start???

Dudie knocked us on our feet not long ago. Out of the blue he pipes up and says

Ive got hairs on my penis

    My baby is starting puberty

I really hsouldnt be surprised. Ive noticed how he has 'changed' his attitude, his presences and become calmer, more reserved. Ive also noticed how dame hair he's knee's have become and how he checks out his appearance in the mirror now.

    BUT

    he's only 9!!!!!!!!

When does it start??? I was 14..J man was really young and cant remember exactly when. I cant believe it..its bloody depressing me

I started getting pubic hair and underarm hair really young, it was about 9 years of age, but AF didn't start till the month after my 13th birthday.

I was horribly embarrassed about the hair. Mum taught me to shave my underarms and I was mortally afraid of my sister blabbing at school. However I do remember by Year 6 a lot of other girls were starting to shave their underarms (I was so relieved I was no longer the only one), which would have been age 11.

It was last year, so about 11 when my son started having mood swings. DD started at 10. DS is 12 and hasn't started physically changing yet, but is almost there. DD is 11 and is starting to develop breasts.

It's quite a sad time for me as a mother. I'm realising their innocence is coming to an end and I just want to hold on to them as 'babies' forever......OMG I am such a sooky lala I have tears in my eyes writing this

I started wearing bras and having to shave my legs at 10, and I got AF at 11. Completely different to my sister who didn't have to do any of that till she was 15.

Maz, it could still be some time before he starts to really experience puberty and it can take up to 4 years to complete, but yes, it is starting for him For me, I started getting pubic hair at around 10 and could easily have worn a bra at that age too, but I resisted that till I was around 11. DH said once that he was closer to 13, he was a late bloomer. One of my brothers was around 10 as well and by 13 the poor kid was completely covered in thick black hair, even all over his back.

Thats pretty young but I have taught a girl who had AF in Yr4 poor kid.
DD2 is 10 and has no signs of puberty but DD1 didn't get AF until 14 1/2 so she may be later like her.

Sorry to dig up an old thread - but I said to DP last night, i give DD 2 yrs and AF will arrive. We both have noticed her attitude change. I have noticed her breast buds developing, ans she has been wearing deodorant for a while now. I've also noticed the weight gain and the roundness of her thighs and hips itms? DD is only 8.

Thinking of it now, I was actually wearing a B cup at age 10! my first AF was in yr 5, which would have made me almost 11 (B'day at the end of the yr)

It goes wayy too fast tho!

Dh in his typical style said Oh no, we wont get any of that for YEARS! LOL My poor unexposed DH. One can only hope the boys take after him.. Come to think of it I hope the girl takes after him too & not me LOL
