Question Nannies - lots of questions? Can you help me?

Do you use one? Do you like them?
Do you pay thier tax/super contributions or is it like they are running thier own business and do it themselves?
Roughly how much do people chargre? It is different for a mummy nanny compared to sole charge?

I'm thinking about this option for 2 days a week for my 2 little ones when I go back to work at the end of the year and having them in care for 1 day a week with DD's FDC mum. I'm trying to find which is the most cost effective way of doing things or whether it's just better for me financially to not go back to work at all.

    TIA. xx

we had one, she was AWESOME!!! but we moved away
we paid her as cash in hand.. she had another job where she was getting paid on the books.
we paid between $12-15 ph depending on the time she had the kids. ie if she only had to do dinner bath then bed and they were asleep for most of her time she got the lower rate, if it was daytime she got the higher rate.
    that was for 2 children.

there are agencies you can go through and some will be able to claim CCB for you, but they are often time limited(may be fine for your job) agencies can be exxy..

we ran an add through the local paper
