how much do you pay for water??

we are only renting and part of our lease conditions is that we pay for our full water usage. Since moving in our house hasnt been water wise (one tap used too much water in whatever time frame they have) Anyways the RE sent out the plumber to replace the tap so its now water wise. We are a family of 5 (2A+3C) How much should i start putting aside to cover our water??

We pay for our full water usage as we're home owners, our last quarterly bill was $55. We have a pool though, and we don't have strict water restrictions up here like you guys do down there. So I'd assume our water bill would be a lot more expensive than what yours would be.

I'm in Vic and pay full water bill, mine is around 70 a month. I wish I had your bills Jodi, water must be cheaper there cos we're pretty waterwise.

We are also home owners so we pay all of ours and live in Victoria. My last quarter bill was $270. We did have the evaporative a/c going alot and my husband is absolutely shocking in the shower in the morning.

I'm in WA and I think our last quarter bill was $40 for 2 adults and DD. It helps when DP has to get out of the shower after 3 mins because hot water runs out though

Crazymum, would you be able to ring the council to find out the rates? Our water rates work on a sliding scale, and have just gone to quarterly billing. Previously we were on the first certain amount of water was free then we started paying. With council amalgamations, the next town over 75klms away, is on a different tariff to us..so it would probably pay to ring the council, explain the situation, and just start keeping track of the water meter. Also ask when they send someone out to read the meter, so you'll have a rough idea when to read the meter

eta: Just thought, is there any info on the councils website as to the pricing of water usage?

Around $300 a quarter here, as homeowners. My bathing with my boy everyday is probably to blame . It is just so much fun and therefore totally worth it for me !

Is your water still thought the council? I thought that everyone was under separate water boards now. Sorry to ask, just curious as DH is in the water industry.

Our water is part of our council.
Up here, we pay 0.89c/kl. Just looking at my last bill, we used
Tenants pay pay the same as Nic, 0.89c/kl for the first 250kl, then it increases.
