    Cool Hindsight's a B****

After a few recent posts giving advice I though I would start one about hindsight.

I know I have been given absolutely piles of conflicting advice. As all of us do I have picked and chosen what advice I wanted to take. Sure I took the wrong advice sometimes, and often the people that gave me the right advice said "I told you so" or "welcome to the real world", which was not in the least helpful. The saying goes Karma's a B****, But is reckon Hindsight is just as bad.

I am a believer in choosing the advice one wants to take and learning from their mistakes. Sometimes I give advice and the intended recipient chooses not to take it. While it is frustrating, by not taking my advice I can see that that person has chosen other advice and may very well learn from their mistakes. If they don't learn from their mistakes then it is their life that will be affected, not mine.

Looking back over my life, in Hindsight I can see many regrets, and some of them I still feel guilty about, but it was the decision I made at the time, and I own it, but it can be hard to look back at. Without having made those decisions I would not be where I am today, but in hindsight I probably wouldn't have made those decisions if I had known or listened to the other advice.

As they say, 'You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make it drink'

My only regret is being born. In hindsight, it would have been so much easier to stay in the womb.

Otherwise - how can you regret something if you can take something from it? You learnt something, so turn the mistake into a positive. It may harm the rest of your life, but you learnt something about yourself and how you learn to live with that mistake can be more powerful than not making it in the first place.

I think there's a Meatloaf song entitled Objects in the rearview mirror may appear closer than they are. That's hindsight. It's done and over: we don't need to delve into it any more, just live with the consequences.

I wish people would learn to apply hindsight to advice, when they have probably found some advice frustrating themselves before yet for some reason their advice is the best advice and if someone doesn't take it they are in the wrong! Pfft.

I am not an agist nor do I believe just because I have experienced something and therefore have the wisdom that comes with my own mistakes that someone else who makes mistakes is somehow less perfect than myself. Quite hypocritical when you think about it. I'm glad some people were born perfect, because I know I wasn't and y'know I'm pretty proud of that

    LMAO @ being born Ryn
