We are due in July and don't know what sex the baby is, we have some names on a short list but cannot agree on which type of name sounds better with our surname.
Our Surname is H...well- Jones.
Should we have 1, 2, 3 or 4 syllable first names is what I am getting here..
I personally like the sound of 3 syllables but wonder if it makes it too much of a mouthful?
Hubby likes short punchy 1 syllable names.
Examples of some of the names we like are:
Delilah
Cordelia
Rhett
Cohen
Sterling
Lula
Lila
Orson
Any thoughts, help suggestions greatly appreciated- we are going round in circles here!
Some people may say to keep the first name short but I don't necessarily agree.
I love the name Delilah, and I think that it would flow well with your surname, it can also be shortened to Lila that I see is also on your list.
I think Cordelia may be a bit to much of a mouthful - being 4 syllables, maybe it is just that I don't like the name to much, sorry.
I like Cohen and Orson best out of your boys names... I think that all of them would flow nicely with your surname though.
Good luck deciding .
ETA: I might add, I am not the best person to ask, I prefer longer names for first names, both my girls have 3 syllables for their first names.

: ETA added.
Freda Hxxwell-Jones
Lucinda Hxxwell-Jones
Max Hxxwell-Jones
Maximillion Hxxwell-Jones
All sounds pretty good to me.
I may go with something like Lucinda or Maximillion, so your DH can have Luce and Max whereas they can have nice "big" names when they're older if they want.
