I am desperate for help with a law question for my assignment

Hi I am doing another law assignment and I really need help with a question. The question is: Explain your role as the Endorsed Enrolled Nurse, for informing of definite or suspected mal treatment of susceptible individuals. Identify and discuss the relevent legislation that pertains to this. I have looked on the QLD legislation website and googled it and I am having trouble finding the legislation relating to mal treatment and the mandatory reporting of it. Can anyone help? It's driving me nuts.. Maybe I am just not looking hard enough but if someone can point me in the right direction it would be much appreciated

Try the Australian Legal Information Institute commonly known as austlii. It's an educational Australian website...

Look under QLD legislation and try whatever governs nurses... there's sure to be an Act or some Rules or REgulations or some such like.

    Good luck.

    Look at http://eprints.qut.edu.au/5870/2/5870.pdf

In respect of children see s191 of the Public Health Act 2005. See legislation.qld.gov.au. Austlii is often out of date...

It was the Health Act 1937 but it has since been amended so see the public health act..see http://www.health.qld.gov.au/publich...ents/30490.pdf

erk a patient advocacy question.....have none of my texts on hand but I'm sure if you got in contact with the local hospital's Patient Advocate Officer tomorrow they'd be able to point you in exactly the right direction. Also look up the Nurses Registration Board....there should be info on your practice requirements there to guide you.

Some of the legislation will be
    The Privacy Act
    The Crimes Act
Your relevant nursing act/regulation in Qld...ours is different I think

I would probably also look into scope of practise aswell http://www.qnc.qld.gov.au/assets/fil...ork_policy.pdf

    http://www.legislation.qld.gov.au/LE...sMisuseA86.pdf Misuse of Drugs act

    http://www.legislation.qld.gov.au/LE...NursingA92.pdf Nurses act 1992

    http://www.legislation.qld.gov.au/LE...NursingA92.pdf nursing regulation 1996

    Those might be of use
