day one of our extensions.. builder has a broken arm

ok, got an email from builder lat night saying he has broken his arm a few days ago. they are starting our extensions today and he says he has a mate who is going to fill in for him. he said he himself will be here most days.

i am nervous...

how does the builders licencesing work? when we chose the builder i made sure he had his licenece etc. do i need to make sure this 'fill in' has one too? or cause original builder is overseeing it is it all ok?

I would be asking the builder if this 'friend' is qualified to be completing the work, if he says yes then i would ask to see his qualifications.

If not then i would suggest you ask if the works completed are covered under his insurance and request something in writing to cover yourself.

I am not 100% sure but it's best to cover your bases.
