    Adding vegies to slow cooker?

Today I am cooking a roast chicken in my slow cooker (smells good, especially with all the herbs I added, mmmm). What I'm wondering is, can I add vegies now in with the chicken, to cook and be ready by tea time?

I hardly ever use my slow cooker, so don't really know what I can and can't do yet.

The best ones I have found are potatos and carrots...the hard vegies. I have put sweet potato in byt found it went a little mushy towards the end. I also use onion...sliced or diced!

I love the way the potatos soak up the sauce. *drooling*

I have put peas and corn etc in (frozen kind) in the last hr. I read too that pasta should go in during the last hr as well although i have never done this.

Thanks - I was actually thinking of carrot and potato (as that's about all I have left, lol). Thanks Vixstar .
