    Low CM

    Hi all,

I have a question about CM. Have been TTC now for 2 years. Had surgery for a high grade abnormal pap smear before TTC. Specialist at the time said this would not affect fertility. But now new specialist says that I may not have enough CM (as some cells removed) to transport sperm. I definately have some, is there any way of telling how much is enough??? Also compounding is I had an infection after baby #1 and recently diagnosed with ongoing pelvic inflammatory disease, on 3 types of antibiotics at the moment to try and clear.

Any suggestions on how to see if theres enough? Dr said can get more tests done but would involve trips to Sydney and not keen to do more travelling at this stage....

    Thanks girls...

I'd be interested in any answers on this one also. I have very little CM and was wondering how that might effect out TTC chances.

As long as you have *some* EWCM the sperm can get where it needs to go.

You can try preseed lubricant which is TTC friendly & can help.

There is also the option, gross as it sounds, to use real egg whites when doing the deed... We have a post here about how to do it if you're interested -- https://www.bellybelly.com.au/forums...lubricant.html

    Thanks

    Thanks Sarah,

I have actually just finished the course of antibiotics and have noticed lots of EWCM in the last few days, so wondering if the infection had actually decreased the amount. Didn't want to TTC this month due to large amounts of antibiotics but fingers crossed for next month. Think I will take my herbs as well as that is how I fell with #2. And come to think of it I think they did increase my CM last time. The herbs were for liver cleansing, inflammation, immune system and fertility (unsure of exact ones last time as different natropath who was excellent) and fell after six weeks (after a year of trying). This time am going to take fertility herbs (Black cohosh, Gingko Bilboa, Licorice, and St Marys thistle) as well as trying to get False Unicorn root as I think I had that last time and is good for pelvic inflammation. Might put a post in the natural therapies section when I start.

Thanks again, and good luck in your journey kts64s...

    thanks

Thanks for that. I don't think I will worry about it any more, or getting more tests done as this means 4hr trip (one way). Will just see what happens now have finished the antibiotics. Thanks again!
