Am I the only one whose little one is...

    ... completely obsessed with books!!!

I know most kids love books, but my 14mo is crazy obsessed. I feel like he hardly ever plays with his toys - just all day long is flipping through his books or bringing me a book to read him!
Today I got some of his toys out and sat down and with him - I think that lasted all of 5 minutes before he was off and into his books again! LOL

Am I the only one with a book obsessed LO?

Emily is, and some days to be honest it drives me insane! Like yesterday for example, I think I read like a hundred books to her. With each book, I have to read it 3 or 4 times before we can move onto another one. And if there's a book that has something like a duck, or cow, then I have to sing a song for it (like bah bah black sheep, 5 little ducks etc).
It is great that she loves book, but sometimes ... arrrggghhhhh!!

My DS1- now almost 23months- is too...which is interesting as I had always found it tricky to get him to sit still for me to read to him about 1 year ago. Now most mornings when he rises at ridiculously times in the morning (5-6am ) he'll be sitting on his bedroom floor reading (well trying to) or shoving them in my face (i'm still in bed) wanting me to read it too him (which of course i do- its nice to snuggle up in bed and read to him). He also spends alot of time during the day reading or asking me to as well- i love it.

My DD has always been obsessed with books. She now 'reads' to her little brothers, who will sit there quietly listening. The amazing thing is we have sooo many books, but she has memorised most of them and can tell the stories very accurately, although she cann't actually read yet.

Then again it isn't very surprising considering how much myself, DH and all of her aunties and uncles and grandparents all read. My father has a library at his house and many more books packed away in boxes (he buys at least one a day).

DD has been like that forever. I remember when she was 9months old and we had mothers group at our house. One mum was horrified that I gave her books with 'pages' instead of board books, but she just loved them.

My DS has been fine with paper pages for a long, long time. He's only made a few rips when he's been a bit excited about turning pages, lol.

DS was exactly like that when he was younger - I remember a day that I spent about 3 hours (!!!) reading the same 15 books over and over and over and over.. omg.. I had no voice by the end of it.. LOL

Thankfully DD1 likes to flick through the books herself, and doesn't need them read over and over and over....

Both my girls adore books - DD2 sits there for ages just pulling books out of the bookcase and flipping through them.

Yep DD LOVES books - I would spend most of the day sitting and reading them to her. She also sits down and reads them to herself as well..

My 2yr old is the same way and has been since about 18 months. It's fantastic right now since I am so tired and sick, it's a great way for us to spend time together.

LOL yeah Ava is a real book worm like me and her daddy we love to read. Gosh I sound like a real nerd lol But yeah, ava will quite happily sit there looking at her books. Even at like 6 months old she knew when the book was upside down and had a bit of a less attention span lol but now she sits there for ages reading and will quite happily do so on her own too. Makes up her own little stories lol
