Does this sound like a possible UTI?

My 18 month old DD had gastro last weekend with diarrhoea and at times overfilling her nappy with it! She recovered quite quickly from gastro but then a couple of days ago she started crying out of the blue and holding on to her nappy. Since then this has been a regular occurrence throughout the days. She will just suddenly start crying every so often and hold on to her nappy. And at night she keeps waking crying for a bit and then resettling (which is so unusual for her). She also suddenly hates being in the bath and having her nappy changed. Does this sound like a possible UTI? I wonder if some of the diarrhoea got into her urinary tract? Or maybe she's still tender from the diarrhoea? She doesn't have a temperature but she's just not her usual, happy, good sleeping self.

hmm not sure. Can you try giving her extra water to try flushing her system if thats what it is?

Worth taking her to the drs to get checked. A similar thing happened to my DD, she was intermittently crying and saying it hurt and grabbing her nappy, she didn't have a temp initially but got one about 5 days later, turned out she had a UTI and was promptly treated. The Dr told me a common cause of UTI's is dehydration, so given she has just had gastro she might have got a bit dehydrated and a bug got in.
If it is a UTI, better to get onto it sooner rather than later to save any kidney damage. It might be nothing, but no harm in doing a urine sample. (besides that fact it is an absolute pain to collect!)

I have no idea, but just sending a big hug for both you & M hope she feels better soon and you get to the bottom of it.
