    Star Charts or similar?

Do you do these with your kids? When did you start? How do you do yours?
I'm thinking about doing one for eating meals and cleaning up toys.

I started one recently with Ava, and I tell you what it makes the world of difference! I drew one up myself made it all colorful and got stickers from her favourite cartoon character (dora) so on mine i've got 'Helping mummy & daddy (which involves helping put her toys away), Good sharing, Good listening, Good quiet time, Eating all her dinner and good teeth brushing. Her behaviour has improved alot, especially because she is right in sticker mode at the moment.

They are a really good way of modifying behaviours and have good results quickly. I used to work with kids with ADHD and could see results with them after only a few days.

Play to what they love to do, their interests etc, what gets them going. Then just offer stars to gain bigger rewards such as outings with mum and dad, time with mum/dad alone etc. It's important not to reward with food.

I'll definitely be using them with Evie when and if we ever need to.
