My hair is falling out!
More than what it "normally" would.
Especially in the shower, when I am washing it.
It feels quite healthy, shiny and strong.
I had my daughter 3 months ago, and noticed the hair loss about a month ago.
For anyone who has experienced this, please post to let me know what helped you.
I did go to Hairhouse Warehouse, where the sales lady brushed me off and sold me some shampoo which has not helped AT ALL!
Hun, it's totally normal...but scary all the same. Apparently you don't drop as much when you are pregnant and then it catches up later
When my hair is longer I usually notice it alot more too.
I'm yet to have a child, so I can't comment on experiencing changes in my hair as a result of pregnancy and subsequent birth.
I have long hair and my hair goes through cycles of loosing lots and I mean clumps in the shower, when brushing etc... I'm lucky I have lots of hair and it's thick.
My hair dresser has said it is normal, so I'm not fussed about it.
Tho in saying that, I do notice when I'm stressed my hair loss increases.
Not much help in recommendations of products or how to stop it, just you're not alone in experiencing it.
I had dramatic hair loss from about 3mths after giving birth until about 8mths after. I mean clumps of hair when I washed it.
Not to scare you but I started to look like I was receeding around my temples. Was shocking and I went to the doctors but its all normal and it grew back. I jsut have short bits there now until they grow long again.
It's normal, but if you're very concerned about it, pop into your GP and get them to check it out. Severe hair fall is often a medical problem, not something a hairdresser or special shampoo can fix GL, I hope it's just the hormone aftermath of having a baby and will fix itself up soon
It is totally normal - one of the things they don't tell you about having babies With both of my girls I had a lot of hairloss from when they were 3m - 8m. It does look like a lot but it generally isn't noticable.
I noticed I lost a bit due to my daughter playing with/pulling it when she was a tiny tot, so if your daughter likes to yank on it, perhaps get a strong necklace as a substitute!
Yes, it is normal. Mine fell out by the handfull while I was BF then settled down when I finished.
After I had DD2 there is a picture of me with red hair and I am not a red head, went back to my natural colour, now changing colour again but that is now due to age.
Amazing what having children and BF will do to the body
How's it going now, hun? Did you go get it checked out with your doc?? Have been wondering about it, I'm getting a BIG chop tomorrow so as I sit here contemplating my own hair I've been thinking of yours
Hope it's just post-preg hormones at work and it fixes itself up soon
Hey,
I'm pretty sure it is post-PG hormones, as the timing seems to tie in with what other ladies have told me....
Tell me about what sort of cut you decided on?
I was growing my hair, but now wondering whether to cut it into a bob to keep it healthier until the hair loss passes.
I love, love, love going to the hairdresser to change it up!
I had to get mine cut while going through the fallout stage and have kept it shoulder length or shorter since.
I have just found a new hairdresser in Mt Evelyn and she have me a concave cut which I love, easy to dry and it keeps its shape.
