What to presents to get my son for his 2nd birthday?

    Hi,

I'm looking for ideas what to get my son's 2nd birthday in about a month. And gift ideas i can tell relatives as well.

I have a couple of ideas (like he loves hot wheel cars), so just thought i'd see what others have bought their son (or friend/relative of course).

    Thanks in advance.

Thanks Feeb, problem is he's got most of that stuff- got bed for christmas (well just before- cause we had to), got heaps of blocks (hand me downs from cousin), thought i'd do trampoline for christmas this year for both of them (DS2 was born in February this year), bike for his 3rd birthday (as he has just begun working out his trike) and I also know both Nana's have already bought him train sets (i discovered this on the weekend that they both have done this, and neither can take them back cause they were bought a while ago from aldi).

But i was thinking maybe an easel- or even a blackboard - so i like that idea, thanks. And i was planning a new dvd (he loves the wiggles).

    Hmm....decisions, decisions.

Any more ideas- please keep them coming. The more the merrier.

Thanks for those ideas too BellaBambina. Some of those ideas are out too. He got a Peter Alexander robe for his birthday last year which now fits him perfectly, just bought him slippers the other week when it started to get cool and we've got annual passes for all the theme parks up here (they had great specials last year) and plan to go to Australia Zoo for his birthday anyway (not doing a party this year).

But i was thinking puzzles though. What do you mean by name puzzles and where would you get them?

And bean bag is another good one- he loves my old one- but its time to say good bye to that one i think as its had a few repairs now (i've had it for about 15 years- lol!)

But keep the ideas coming, this is starting to help me gather ideas. Thank you.

Pleasure! I love presents (giving and receiving)

You might be able to get a Cars bean bag.

There is a website that you can have your child's name made into a puzzle. So each letter of the name is a puzzle piece. They are gorgeous. If you put mooo and name puzzles into google it should come up. You order them online.

Was thinking of some more ideas too!

-a soccer ball and those mini soccer goals for the backyard if he likes being outdoors.
    -Gumboots (for splashing in puddles)!
-musical instruments (if you can handle the noise)

Well thanks again for your suggestions.

We've made our decision on the main present for our 2 year old's birthday, so thought i'd share in case others are looking for ideas too.

So far he will be getting-
    * A 'Cars' ride on roller coaster (found it on ebay and know how much he loves them as he's rode them at friends houses and indoor playcentres).
    * Mr Potato Head (i've always wanted to get him one and he loves Toy Story so should recognise him)
    * A New Wiggles DVD (though could almost class that as a gift to me cause i'd like a change for the 3 we already have).

But if there are any other ideas out there keep them coming. There's still family who keep asking what to get him and this thread may help others as well (i hope).

    Thanks again.
