Question Spirulina, wheat grass, and other "super greens"

I'm just wondering if anyone regularly takes spirulina, wheat grass, barley grass or any other forms of supergreens? Firstly I'm wondering what the drink formats taste like. Then I'm also wondering what benefits you've noticed and/or what the downside of these things are (and please don't say taste - answer that by telling me what it tastes like).

Has anyone noticed that they've had less cravings for processed and "naughty" foods since taking these suppliments? Has anyone lost weight? How have your energy levels been since using them?

Sorry for all the questions. I'm just trying to improve my health and wellbeing and have been thinking about these suppliments for a while.

Re: Spirulina, wheat grass, and other "super greens"

I have used a supergreens powder in the past but I can't remember it's name. It does taste terrible! It tastes like dirt and grass. It is better mixed in juice and downed quickly, with some sort of chaser but once it's done I felt good!
I wasn't taking it for weight lose just for general health. I am slack in taking supplements so it didn't last long unfortunately.

Be careful with spirulina, everyone I know that has used it regularly has ended up with kidney stones (three people). It may be a coincidence, but just be careful.

also with spiralina, everyone who I know who has had it reports that ANY food with ANY fat in it, ends up going straight through them.

I take spirulina and it's great for me. I also have used wheat grass but for me spirulina is better. I've not had any of the things that others in here mention.

It does taste a bit ordinary - you can make a smoothy with some LSA, yoghurt and berries and that makes a very nutritious drink that tastes yummy. Or as someone else said just down it fast with a chaser of water!

    I recommend it personally.

I think you should see your specialist first Danni, some of these may affect your thyroid. Apparently Broccoli can be bad for you with thyroid issues.
