DF bought my engagement ring through Certegy. I'm not sure about the credit checks etc (as I wasn't there when he bought it), but they were easy to deal with, the payments came out every fortnight and didn't hear from them until it was paid out!
I am looking for a new bedroom suite and heard that Certegy Ezi Pay doesnt do credit check and all that stuf.....so I was wondering if any of you have used it and where have you purchased goods from??

They don't do a credit check becasue you need to have a valid credit card and they charge to that, instead of them being a credit provider so they work a bit differently to the interest free from someone like GE. So considering that unless you pay off your credit card every month it will cost you a bomb in interest!
I've used them a few years ago. I think it was a $12 startup fee and then fortnightly charges till it had been "paid" back to them via my CC.
I'm with certegy for my window roller shutters - 2 years interest free. Dunno if they did a credit check, just answered the usual Q's about income and any other loans we have. One week my DH's pay went in late, and certegy were straight on the phone chasing the payment! So maybe no credit checks, but VERY tight with the repayments?
I use them for the repayments on my ring. Every time a payment is due, they either ring me or send a text (which is a great reminder, but I do have it in my diary now), and I now pay it directly into the bank, instead of doing it by credit card.
they can do direct debit from bank account rather than credit card. we've used the, with no drama at all - didnt hear from them til the contract was over!
you need to be full time (or at least 30hours a week), showdrivers licence and payslip to confirm your income
I had professional photos taken and instead of paying for the photos out right, the photo studio provided the Certegy Ezi Pay option. I had to provide details of my employment, my yearly income etc... The payments are direct debt out of my account fortnightly.
In terms of interest free purchases I find HSBC a great service provider. I pay more than the recommended amount each month and have never been charged interest. There is also a yearly fee of $59.
Ive used Certegy a number of times, first to get a fridge and washing machine, engagment ring, pixi fotos, that sort of thing...
They just asked for my drivers licence and asked whether i was employed and what my pay day was and they take the amount out every f/n on my pay day. If you dont have the money there your account overdraws. Ive never been asked to show employment income or asked about other loans or financial info i may have. I will be putting a dryer and wedding rings on it soon.. you can only have one going at any one time. You NEVER pay interest with certegy even if your late because it direct debits your account, or credit card. I love it and it works very well in my budget to have it now and pay it off.
We used it for our lounge room furniture a few years ago and had no dramas. I do think there is a credit check but they don't vigourously check that you can afford to repay it like applying for a credit card. It is more like a take home layby and usually you need to pay a certain percentage of what you are buying upfront. There was a $3000 limit for what you could borrow so we had to pay anything over that $3000 out of pocket upfront as well.
Ree*Ree I think we used the same company
We have used Certegy for roller shuttersand we have had no problems, we have even 'shifted' pay days to suit us, and made them fortnightly not weekly.
I have not minded them at all
Oh and I have heard Pixie Photos use them as well!
DH used them to buy my earrings and we recently used them for pixi photos. They're great. They send you a list of when the payments will come out (we used the direct debit option) and basicall we never heard from them again.
All DH needed was to be employed, the name & phone number of where he worked and a bank account details.
We used it too to buy my laptop and vacume cleaner :-)
It'seen fantastic never had a problem with them
I didn't know they DD'd from a bank account too, just thought they were a CC charge company.
I used it with a furniture company for my dining suite & buffet, payment over 12 months, was direct debited from my bank account fortnightly for 12 months, no complaints or issues at all! No interest too. They filled out the forms on the spot & delivered the furniture the same day, pretty sure there was no credit check?
We too used Certergy Ezi Pay for a new lounge and Lounge room furniture.
They were fantastic and we never had any probs with them at all. The payments came out every fortnight with no intertest ever!
We have also used the GE interest free (like you see Harvey Norman etc advertising) and they were terrible. They say its intertest free but you get charged a monthly 'book keeping fee' and if you dont pay it off in the interest free period then the intertest is something stupid like 23% !!!!!
I would def use Certegy again they were great!!!
Just curious, with those who purchased furniture through Certigy, where did you purchase it through? We desperately need a new lounge but are saving to move so don't have the money up front right now.
We got ours through Eureka Street Furniture, but I know Freedom do it here as well ...
