Does this mean that I can fill in a prelim application before I view the property and once it's viewed if we don't like it we don't have to go through with it???
I've never done it online before.
I'm finding it hard with the overlap of having to give 21days notice but properties being available next week or in 2 weeks. I don't want to have to be paying 2 lots of rent on one place during an overlap - we just can't afford that.
I think it might depend on the real estate. Although, being Sydney that might be the case. Here all RE's work different. Some prefer you to look at a property before applying, others like you to apply first.
You should be able to pay a deposit, but not move in til the date you move out of the other place. I'm pretty sure you don't have to move in on the available date. The extra week would give the RE time to do their final inspections & have any repairs done too.
Goodluck
ETA - I'm also pretty sure that even though you get approved for a property you can turn it down. Especially if you haven't been able to view it first.
