    Strange Crawling

DD started crawling about a week ago (19wks old)
She was on proper hands and knees and could get to her targets fairly quickly.
This week she has started getting on hands and feet (like downward facing dog) with her bum in the air, and she doesn't get anywhere, just keeps getting into this position.
Seems like a regression to me?
In her cot, however, she's very fast and efficient with her crawl..

    Has anyone else experienced this?

    bear walking.
its very normal and most kids do it. Both mine did it, and did it AFTER they crawled properly, and they're fine.
You know she can and does crawl properly so i think its all good, and they just like the sensation of something under their feet.

Oh thanks Pandora! I'm glad to know it's normal!
I'm thinking it might also be because the floor is hard and uncomfortable, hence the excellent crawling in her cot!

    Wow! Crawling already!
DS can do a perfect downward dog. I'm so jealous of his flexibility.

    yep what the others said.
My DS could crawl but preferred this method. We called it 4WD. Was great - I didn't wear out the toes on shoes and the knees on any pants
