Not Much Movement Compared To First Pregnancy - Indicator of Personality?
I didn't really think of DD1 being active in my tummy because she was my first so I had nothing to compare to.
But DD2 COMPLETELY freaks me out because she is so quiet. Some days I barely feel her. I've already taken myself off to the ob once to get checked out because even after an icy cold drink she wasn't moving very much.
DD1 was always on the go. My ob told me "you've got a very active baby," but I just thought he probably said that to everyone. One night I was lying in bed spooning DP and she kicked so hard he felt it in his back. When she was a day old, the midwife said "look at that, she's trying to follow voices already. You've got a livewire here."
Anyhow, she HAS turned out to be a very active little girl so I'm wondering if the fact that DD2 seems to be so placid is an indicator that she'll be a bit calmer? We're already joking that DD2's first sentence will be "calm down DD1 and stop being so noisy."
I have asked this question before, and the response I got was generally that yes, it can be a strong indicator of their personality.
I hope so. This bub is a lot more laid back in utero than what DD was, infact this bub only moves in the evenings.
Sometimes you tend not to feel the movements of #2 because you are so busy with #1!! lol
But both my girls weren't as active as my boy - and as babies, the girls have both been easygoing, placid little munchkins. DD1 is still pretty easygoing, not as strung out as DS, but I did parent them differently too so not sure how much that comes into the equation....
DD2 was much more active than DD1 in utero and it has panned out that way since she was born too. DD2 is much more on the go and physically active than DD1 was.
DD1 hardly ever moved inutero. I really had to poke her to get a kick sometimes. And now she is a VERY active full on little girl. In contrast DD2 moved all the time and was quite active and now she is the placid relaxed one. So it's not always the case!
Perhaps your placenta is anterior this time? So you won't feel nearly as much movement. I barely felt DS2 kick because my placenta was right in the front. The first 2 were both posterior and i felt them heaps. This bub also has an anterior placenta but its kinda off to the side so i still feel a lot of activity.
