Earliest they drop day sleeps altogether?

I was just wondering what is the earliest age toddlers drop their day sleep completely?

DS is 15 months. He dropped to one day sleep around 13 months, and would usually sleep for 1.5 hours. However, in the past few weeks his day sleeps have been getting shorter and shorter. Now I'm lucky to get 1.5 hours out of him, usually it's just on an hour. Today it was 45 minutes! I try and resettle him when he wakes this soon, but he simply doesn't want to go back to sleep.

Going by this I'm thinking DS will probably drop his day sleep at a fairly early age. Just wondering how long I've got, lol.

DS dropped day sleeps at around 16 months. My DD kept sleeping in the daytime until around 3 years

DD1 is 19mths and has been down to 1 nap a day since about 14mths, it used to be at around 11am but now i have found if i drag her out to a little after 12 she goes down no problem, she has an early lunch (around 11 - 11:30) and then down for her nap.. she is having anywhere b/w 1 - 3hrs, when she wasn't having lunch first she was having an hour tops... the food made a huge dif.

    GL with it all.

    Thanks for your replies.

Mmm, looks like it could be any time then really... I hope he at least finally starts sleeping through when he does drop it!

Zarava: I have tried DS with and without some food beforehand, and it doesn't seem to make any difference. He just doesn't want to sleep my DS.

DD is 26 months and it looks like she might be starting to give up day sleeps altogether. :-(

DD1 started giving them up at 20 months. When she did sleep during the day it meant she would not sleep til 1030pm. Now at 3yrs she sleeps from 8 til 7ish.

DD2 is just shy of 18 months and in the past week has been fighting her nap time but also fighting going to sleep at night. I am thinking shes about ready to say goodbye to them. For the past few nights she has fallen asleep around 930-10

Its a bugger...am 17 weeks pregnant and was hoping for some rest during the day.

    Good luck.

DD stopped before her first birthday - she actually had a big sleep the day of her birthday which is why I remember. Why did she sleep? The next day the doc diagnosed her with tonsilitis, she was sick She never was a great sleeper... they are all so different .... and I was so exhausted

Nina would have been around 18 months when she dropped hers completely. Emily is almost 2 and still sleeps 4 hours during the day. There's no way she'll drop hers any time soon. They're all different.

DS usually goes down around 11.30 - midday, and this is after waking up around 5.30 - 6am usually. This morning he woke at 3.45am and went down about 11.15am, and then he slept for 2 hours 40 mins! I have no idea...

    Hi Sterla,
DS was a bit like that at that age. I think he dropped to 1 sleep too soon, and it took a while for his body to sort things out (being overtired messed with him, but then he's always slept too little and badly). I was sure at 16mo that he was dropping his day sleep altogether, but after 18mo things really settled down again and he's been quite regular in his day naps since then (well, they start at roughly the same time each day, though vary in length between 1-3 hours).
and yeah, he's up at sparrow's fart too. sucks.
