I had that earlier in the pregnancy - i thought it was some weird kind of sunburn. I went to the GP who dx urticaria (hives). I had it on my arms and chest and it itched like hell. I ended up taking Polaramine (an anti-histimine) and also got some cream off my naturopath. Use loads of fragrant free moisturiser (pure coconut butter is great), keep showers etc to lukewarm and don't get too hot cos it makes it worse. I also chopped my nails down to stop the scratching. The only thing we could think of as a trigger (apart from being pregnant) is the week prior to it starting I had been drinking orange juice, which I dont normally do.

See if there's something new you've started drinking or eating or if you've chaged your washing powder. Otherwise, it could just be pregnancy. The main thing to rule out is PUPPS cos that drives pregnant women insane. And don't take anti-histimines unless your GP gives the OK.

Mmm, yay for screwy pregnant immune systems. Tash has given great advice. Try to keep yourself really healthy too, lots of water and pro-biotics or whatever, pregnancy sickness can be harder to overcome, so you'll give yourself your best chance by taking extra good care of yourself.

Oh you poor thing!! I had this in my first pregnancy and it started at about 5 months, i had to take polaramine every day and it was very bad - It covered my whole body except from my head and it was sooo painful and irritating!!!
I still have it every now and then and find it really flares up around ovulation and period.
