Seriously.. i think i might be going deaf??

OK, so i have this horrid ringing in my ears.. both my ears, but my right one seems to be worse, theres also another sound.. a bit deeper.. i dont know.
i am so scared
i know i should go to the doctors but i feel so silly.
Both my Dad and my Brother have to have their ears syringed (where they put a syringe with water in your ear and blast out any gunk in there) but i dont talk to either of them so i dont know why they need that done..
no advice needed i guess. the answer is pretty obvious i probably have some kind of hearing problem

How scary. It sounds like you know that hearing is not to be messed around with. It could be pressure or dirt or who knows what - it sounds like it runs in your family. But it's always best to get it checked out quickly, don't muck about with your hearing Stevie. All the best, let us know how you go. xo

The ringing in the ears sounds like Tinnitus - have you been exposed to a sudden loud noise, or constant loud noise over a period of time?
My partner has tinnitus caused by a firework going off beside his ear when he was a teenager, however he doesn't have any hearing loss (aside from the normal range)
If you get a hearing test done you can stop worrying yourself over something that is probably nothing

You should see your doctor. They can have a look inside your ears see if maybe you have a build up of ear wax and if not you can get a referal for a hearing test.

I'm half deaf so i always have ringing in my ears, sometimes its all i can hear and its rather painful. I have good days and bad days where i just cannot hear a thing and am forever asking people to repeat themselves.

I went completely deaf when i was 2 due to middle ear infections that werent treated in time, i regained most of the hearing in my right ear but i was still deaf in my left until i was 6.

i'm due for another hearing test but its something i always put off as im worried at what the results will be.

Yeah, i think im gonna book a hearing test tomorrow. or at least go to the doctors.
the only thing i can think of is whn i was younger (14 to about 16) i used to have a discman (likean mp3 player) and i used to have it so freaking loud!! Im that its only tinnitus. Im not even 23 i cant be going deaf LOL

mate, tinnitus is what it sounds like.
Tinnitus can be caused by a whole heap of things both simple and complex.
You might have a blockage and that's why you are more aware of the other noise inside your ear.
Syringing is usually done for ear wax blockages.
Pop into your doc and get them to have a quizz and give you a quick check over.
