    Got a new washing machine

Our front loader door sensor went half way through a wash so it refused to keep washing because it thought the door wasn't closed, when in actual fact the door was closed and locked. And as luck would have it, it was 2 weeks out of warranty

So we've been a little unhappy with it anyway, it was a 7.5kg washer and today we replaced it with a massive 9.5kg top loader with new technology that uses front loader detergent and paid less than $700, including an extended warranty!

Has anyone else had a problem with the door sensor in a front loader?

not so far...although our front loader is our first ever and only bought it about 9 months ago.

i am in awe of your purchase! 9.5kg for $700! gotta love that! bummer about the warranty on the old one just being out. always the way unfortunately. mum had this happen with the comp chip in her fridge that regulates the temp...went bust when she was on holiday came back to oozing fish outta the freezer and of course the warranty was like only 2.5 weeks out. she was spewing.

Ewww about the fish and the fridge - that can't have been a good home coming for your mum.
We saw the same washer but with older technology at another place for $899, then went to the next place and saw the one with newer technology for $598 and then paid a little bit more for an extended warranty. We thought it would be a waste of time to keep hunting when we saw that!
