Question Am I crazy? Feel free to say so!

Hi guys, I need some voices of reason before I go out and buy another HPT!

We've only just started TTC #2 this cycle and really not seriously iykwim (I'm not charting or counting *much* and didn't dtd very often - probably only twice during my probable fertile days).

Here is my problem. I stopped bf DD exclusively about two months ago and over the last two-three weeks she's rejected the breast completely and opted for the bottle. Because we were looking at starting for #2 I didn't mind too much at first (although I miss it like crazy now!) Anyway that's the bf situation.

I've had one period since DD was born. That AF arrived exactly 35 days ago today. It was a proper AF, lots of cramps, heavy flow and lasted 6 days. Based on that I thought my cycles would return to their regular scheduled programming

Before DD my periods were generally regular 28 (sometimes 29,30) day cycles. So I expected AF around last Monday (the 10th). This is what happened:

Spotting on the 7th (usual darkish colour so I thought here it comes). Then nothing til the 10th (more spotting but darkish brown colour). Again nothing for three days til the 13th and then more spotting. Then on Saturday 15th I think my AF has finally arrived because every time I use the bathroom there is spotting (sometimes fresh red other times and more often the dark brown discharge) and its continued daily like this til today. Still no actual flow??

Sorry to give you all the details this way but Im going shopping this afternoon and I know I am going to have to resist purchasing another HPT! I got a First Response pack last week and tested on Sunday 9th (twice!) and Tues 11th with -ve results. I figured if my AF was due on the 10th (based on a 28 day cycle) I would have had a +ve at least on Tues.

I know your first cycles after birth can be all over the place. Does this sound normal? Or could this be implantation bleeding . Argh! I know I'm going to buy another test....

What do you guys think? Am I getting my hopes up prematurely?

    Thx Skybie

AF's ears must have been burning cause it just arrived with a vengeance! Looks like I can hold off on any more HPTs for a few weeks!

for me personally it took about 6 months or so for my periods to become relatively regular after having DS, The firt period was all over the place and then the second one hit me like a tonne of bricks!! It was terrible! Nausea, cramping, problems with bowel movements - the lot! But in saying that you may be preggers so maybe try a HPT???? good luck

Thx nat. For me it was the reverse. First period hit hard and heavy and this one is all over the shop. Was spotting for a week before anything really happened and then was over in a day. No real flow at all.

Sarah & Skybie I went and got a hpt yesterday! Couldn't resist. It just didn't feel like AF. But hopes dashed again!

Fingers (and everything else) crossed for next month for everyone!
