Question First cycle after stopping pill... driving me crazy!

Hopefully someone can shed some light here?

I stopped the pill (Levlen) on 19th April, had the normal withdrawal bleed, and felt fine. On 27th we DTD, then on the Friday, 29th, I started to feel quite faint and dizzy. Since then, I've been feeling nauseous, constipated, extremely tired (although that's kind of par for the course with two other children bouncing about me all day) and alternating between feeling great, and really, really cranky. I've also had heaps of cramping for the past two weeks, and have been checking cervix position for the last few days, expecting low, but it's still high and quite soft? I know that the first cycle after stopping the pill can be a bit weird and can leave you with pregnancy-like symptoms, but I would have expected to get AF already... and I took two tests already and they were both negative!

It's not like I'll be completely shattered if I'm not pregnant, because after all it's the first month, but I would kind of like these symptoms to go away if it's not the real thing!

    Hi Sasha
I don't have much advice to offer sorry, but I remember when I came off the pill it took six weeks for my period to return and after that my cycles slowly regulated.
I hope you get af (or a bfp!) really soon

thank you! Last time we conceived, I was on the mini-pill and I don't remember feeling anything like this - I think M is more worried than I am, I guess I'm just a bit fed up with waiting to find out!

I hope this doesn't happen to you too, but when I went off the pill it took 4 months to get a cycle back!! Was a huge PITA. I kept getting fertile signs and then nothing so got very very frustrated. However, when I finally did get a cycle back, it didn't take long to get a BFP. Good luck!!

How long were you on the pill prior to stopping? The symptoms could just be your body returning to normal.

Yay (kind of)! AF arrived this morning, I should have just been patient! I guess I wasn't expecting such wild symptoms as I'd only been on the pill for about 8 months - and I didn't experience them much at all when I was trying with S, after having been on the pill for 10 years! Hopefully things will start getting back to normal now. Thanks for all your replies.

That's great! (again, kind of!!) Hopefully things will get back to normal now.

BTW Sasha - I think I know you. I think I used to live with you in Shenton Park many many years ago (10maybe? Gees, where does time go). Not sure, but I think it's you!!
