    falling dreams

    Hi all;
    So the other night I had a falling dream, but I have never been so scared in my life!

    I was having this dream that I was at a zoo. I was at the tiger exhibit, which was really run down and broken. Then all of a sudden the tiger got out, and chased the group. We ended up in a shed like thing, safe. but then the shed went up (a bit like the glass elevator in charlie and the chocolate factory) and then it went down, down, down...
    At that point I could feel the pressure on my chest in my dream, it hurt to breathe I was pushed up against the wall and was freaked out.
    Just before we hit the ground I woke up.
    But when I woke up I couldnt breathe, I just couldnt get anything to work for ages. Eventually I was able to suck a bit of air in, and then a major coughing fit.
    Once everything went back to normal I couldn't sleep, I was so scared that I wouldnt wake if I did sleep. Eventually I did drift off, and Im still here, but Im still shaken from it...

    SO do you think the theory of if you hit the ground in a falling dream, you die.. is true?
    And has anyone else had similar?

    Sorry if there is a thread already on this, but I wanted to get this off my chest!

    I've been having a recurring dream ever since I was a child. Very similar to yours. Mine is that I'm a tall bridge and I fall off. Just before I'm about to hit the water I wake up. I wake up feeling like I've been falling, and feel very breathless.
    No idea what it means though.

    Sometimes people experience similar sensations when they have been out of body or "astral travelling" and they have a bit of a rough landing.

    It could be that while you were out in dream land you had a short sleep apnea incident (which you may have at other times), so your higher self pushed you home fast so you could wake up and breathe. Are you known to snore or have any other symptoms of apnea...might be worth keeping an eye on it.

    It might be worth doing a little reading about astral travel, it could help reassure you. The thing about hitting the ground seems like absolute rubbish to me.

    Thank you!

    Marydean I will check out the astral travelling.... I normally only snore when Im pregnant, but I was sick when this happened so I might have been having a few sleep breathing issues!

    Thank you
