Charting whilst Bfing and AF hasn't returned

    Hi Everyone.

DD is 10 months and I haven't had AF return as yet, we are still breastfeeding although her daily breastfeeds are starting to reduce. The last 3 or so months I could have sworn AF was coming. I got slight ovary pain, back ache, moody and my skin is terrible. To no avail she hasn't arrived.

I'd like to know if my body is cycling again. Could I start to chart?

Hey bec....you could record CM changes, if any. I dont know about taking temps....i know your still up and down a bit with little miss....and i know with b/f your hormones can play havoc with night waking, night sweats etc....i dont knw how that would impact on accurate temps. But, in saying that, im sure you would see some pattern arising...dont wish it back too much hon....ive had mine back since H was 8 months, so 4 times now, and im over them...they're heavier, longer and im just not used to them at all.....

Wow MBear - You don't get much break after your bubs are born do you? Hugs

I would really love for AF to stay away for a while longer, but I'd also like to know where I am up to for contraception purposes..lol. I didn't think temping would be accurate because I am up frequently. As for cm, I've noticed a bit of a pattern recently so I might actually write my observations down and see if I can get a pattern going. Ta xx00

Bek - In your situation I'd play it safe, unless of course you'd welcome another pregnancy. I had no signs my cycle had returned when I fell prg with D, was still feeding L etc. I had a few days of light bleeding which I thought was AF returning but who knows. It could have been implantation or even just prg spotting which I get with all my pregnancies, we have no idea of dates in any event and just went with dating scans (which could have been off given he was such a big baby and by those dates over two weeks late)

Anyway, what I'm trying to say but just rambling on is, I'd be taking precautions if you want to avoid another pregnancy.

Willow - I totally get what you are saying. I feel like I may be coming into a "danger time" so DH and I are starting to take precautions now lol. We've been lazy up until recently. Thanks for your input

Just subscribing cause I am in exactly the same boat as you Bek... I am starting to feel like we are playing it a bit risky. I was wondering what to look for but from what you have said Willow I am thinking I might just be better off playing it safe anyway

Get thee to a chemist, or gynae or something woman!

For what it's worth, I really recommend the Mirena IUD. I know it doesn't agree with everyone but it's been fantastic for us so far. And it's not permanent

Willow - If I do any sort of hormonal contraception I think the Mirena would be the best bet. I am going back to my doctor soon so I'll see what they think. I can't take the normal Pill so I am not sure if the Mirena would be better.

MBear - You know I was thinking the same thing about a Feb/Mar baby lol. Oh my lordy I could just imagine. DH and I have decided to wait until Eva is near on 2 to make a final decision about another.

I think some thing is happening and AF might be here soonish. I have had horrible headaches and cramping all week. Oh the joy!!!!
