    Smile Our beautiful Esmae

Our golden retriever Esmae is one she is a big beautiful excitable clown!! she jumps on strangers, my mum, other kids and sadly our 10yr old DS she quickly settles down she just gets very happy to see ppl
But when it comes to the girls she is amazing, gentle and protective. Lucy can sit on her, ride her anoy her to no end and Esmae sits there and takes the lot
Esmae follows her around the yard as if she is looking after her.
Mum had Milly outside the other day giving her a bottle and when it came time for mum to burp her Esmae paced infront of mum looking very concerned...as if mum was hurting Milly(just burping her) mum got up and went inside because she felt uncomfortable.

ive always thought of dogs as just "pets" but now Esmae has taught me dogs really are part of the family

How cute! We have a big beautiful dog who is so so placid and would always give way to other dogs and people. And if he was getting hassled he would just look at us with sad eyes to say 'please help me!'. But when we first had DS a dog came right up to the pram and Zeuss gave a really sharp warning bark at him, even though he was a good doggy friend of his. We were pretty surprised that he really showed a protective streak (considering he is the worlds worst guard dog). He is getting a little bit old now and starting to show some health problems but I love him like a son and am really afraid of him getting older.
I think it is so lovely for kids to grow up with a great dog.

Naww how cute! We have a goldie too, wonderful dogs! Although ours is a bit of a nutter sometimes! Lol. DD adores him and I think it's great that they'll be able to grow up together (Mason is 2). When we go walking he'll stick his nose in the pram to check on DD, just to make sure she is still there! He did steal a rusk stick from her the other day though, bit cranky at him for that!
