Question When did your little one start saying 'I love you'?

Or something similar, like 'love you' or whatever.

I have to say, I am quite surprised that she hasn't repeated this yet! Seeing as we saying it multiple times a day!

She repeats most of what is said around her, but not 'I love you'.

Just wondering anyway. I know she'll say it in her own time, and I know she loves us and doesn't need to say it. I have just found it interesting that she repeats 'butterfly' and 'puppy dog' and 'juice now please' and, er, 'oh shiiiiiiiit!' ( well, that was a few months ago now, we've stopped saying that around her haha). but not I love you. I'm SURE I've said 'I love you' more than I've said 'oh ****'!!!!!!!!!

Leash I hear you. Ds won't say it either. If I ask do you love mummy I might get a kiss but that is it. But he will repeat everything else. Oh well I guess it will happen when they are ready.

It might take a while to process what "love" means?? Other physical objects are easy to point at and copy, so maybe that's why they come so easy. And oh sh*t probably just sounded funny, so worth repeating!!!

    Just a thought....

And I can't remember when DD first said it, but she is nearly 3 now and says it quite frequently, which is lovely!

DD is getting close, but we say it to her a lot and encourage her to say each word, but it is happening yet, I can't wait for the day she does

I got 'love you' for the first time last week, DD is 15 months. I dont think she understands what it means, she just parrots everything I say. Sure was cute but! Your DD will suprise you when you least expect it no doubt

Both of mine were very early talkers (they needed to keep up with their mumma!). I don't remember the exact age, but by 12 months they were both giving a variation of 'wub oo', although only in response to my 'I love you'. Can't remember when it happened unprompted?? Now they both tell me numerous times a day that they love me! It'll happen soon... and you'll know that she means it because you've had to wait!!

DD has always been amazing with her vocabulary and how well she says things.... she's a real chatterbox like her Mummy haha so it doesn't really surprise us with how well she can talk!

She says to me "Mummy Pity".... means "Mummy pretty" awwwww melts my heart..... I can't wait til she tells me she loves me, that will really be something special

Leasha, I'm sure Jazz will say it very soon she's just keeping you in suspense
