Help!! low libido ruining my relationship - thyroid problems??
I'm at my wits end right now. I am just so tired of feeling bleh! I have no energy, I literally wake up feeling groggy, I am finding that sometimes I even have difficulty stringing sentences together, I have put on more weight (coz I have no evergy to do anything). And I have no sex drive whatsoever....I mean really nada...zilch.
This has been going on for months now, I had been putting it down to the fact that I had MC in Jan & since then have just been feeling overloaded with my new job, DF new job, finding out DF will need surgery on old injury & a whole string of other little hiccups. But in the last few weeks its really started to worry me, its affecting my work, my friendships & my home life & relationship with my fiance of 7yrs. I feel 'flat' all the time, like my brain has turned to mush & am finding work & socialising an effort because I just cant focus. Ive felt this before & was diagnosed as depressed, but it doesn't feel right to me......I just dont feel depressed. Certainly the fact that I can take a step back & realise that there are things I want to be doing things but just cant bring myself to do them, is a little depressing
But my relationship is really worrying me. He obviously feels neglected & seems incapable of actually talking to me about any of it & Ive tried to explain to him but he just doesnt hear me. ITs gotten so much worse in the last month or so, the more I wonder what is wrong with me, the less I feel like DTD & then he just pulls away more.
But Ive made an appointment for my GP next week (the earliest I could get in).
I am starting to wonder if maybe it could be my thyroid?? I don't know much about it but have read a few of the symptoms online & they seem to fit with me?
I was diagnosed with hashimoto's disease about 2 years ago now!!! I felt tired ALL the time, i had a VERY heavy period, and was feeling very over whelmed and NO sex drive either!!!! Going to the dr is the best thing you can do. I had NO idea i had anything wrong with me but my Dr knew straight away!!! Goodluck and i hope that you can find an answer!!!!
I have thyroid problems and experience the same symptoms as you. When you see your GP, ask for a scan. I had bloodtests to test hormones, which fell within the normal ranges. It wasn't until I had a scan on my lungs that my enlarged thyroid was picked up. My GP then referred me for a thyroid scan which showed a number of nodules in both thyroid lobes. I have an appointment on Wednesday morning with an endocrinologist to see what we're going to do about it now.
thanks for the support. Ive been struggling with this for a while now & was at my wits end wondering what was wrong with me & why I couldn't just make myself do something.
lovemykids - I read somewhere that aches are a symptom of hashimotos, neck/throat aches? did you have this symptom? Ive had almost constant aches for years now but had put it down to a bad back & neck, but am now wondering if its been masking something else.
I wish I could get an appoitnment with my GP today, now that I know what I need to do. Hannanat thanks, I will be asking about a scan at my appointment next week.
My hashimoto's was diagnosed almost straight away, mine was due to a hard labour and i only had symptoms for about two weeks!! I did not have aching or pain, BUT i had just given birth to my baby so I really thought that my symptoms were from labour/pregnancy!! I had never ever heard of it before and had no idea so you are already one step ahead of me :-) If you have any questions or anything don't hesitate to ask :-)
