What age did your child not want to ride in a stroller?
Hi everyone, I'm wondering what age your child stopped wanting to ride in their stroller?
dh and I are looking at prams for our bub and are considering how important it is to get one that can take a 2nd seat. We will be trying for our 2nd bub relatively soon after #1 (all going well) so we are thinking that bub #1 will also still need the pram some times. BUT we've been told that the 1st bub will probably not even want to ride in the pram anyway so was wondering what your experiences have been. TIA
My DS1 stopped going in a pram/stroller when he was about 3 years old. DS2 arrived the day after his third birthday and I had a toddler seat for our pram, but never ended up using it.
There is 22 months between DS2 and DD and I use our P&T pram with the second seat daily. DS2 is 2 1/2 and still happy to sit in the pram or stroller.
DD1 stopped using the toddler seat at about 2.5, i have 2.3 years between the girls, it really depends on the child, DD1 walks very well beside me but i have friends with kids the same age who run and need to be in the pram, if you want two close id definatly get a pram taht takes two
DD#1 wouldve been happy to be out of the stroller shortly after she turned 2 - but she is an explorer with 20 hands so I needed her in the pram lol
She was closer to 3 when I stopped putting her in. HTH
Defnitely get something that will take the two of them. If you have them really close, your first baby may not even be walking by then, let alone be able to walk a long distance. Then they may still be little enough that they fall asleep while out, so you will need something for them to be in while they sleep. My first 3 were all 20months apart and I used one of those pram skateboards and that was enough for me - they could get off and walk sometimes and then just ride on the board when they were tired, but as soon as we got back to the car they were knackered! So in hindsight I probably could have made use of a pram with at least a toddler seat, if not a double stroller.
I walk a LOT and we pretty much walk everywhere so DD1 still gets tired and needs to get in the stroller at times and she is 4. However, this is after about 6km of walking so I don't mind.
Great advice once again from the BB girls Thanks so much
We are looking at the Phil & Teds Dash or the Baby Jogger Elite there are pros and cons of each kind but I am leaning towards the Phil & Ted. One thing this thread has helped me with is deciding to def get something that can take 2!
