    Smile Naked!

Bit of a funny - ours doesn't like clothes. Its winter, its cold, but she doesn't like clothes.

So inside, she generally swipes HER fuzzy blanket off the bed and trots around wearing it most of the day, looking like a cross between a Jedi and a Roman in a toga and of course getting snagged on all the furniture because blankets aren't designed for wearing. We try and get clothes on her, the usual response is "No mummy. No clothes. Naked. No clothes." Sometimes we get a jumper or top or dressing gown on her for a few minutes until she takes them off.

We all wear clothes of course, except the cat. She has noticed the cat is also naked and likes to point it out as a perfectly valid reason why SHE shouldn't wear clothes, and isn't swayed by arguments that the cat has quite a spectacular winter coat and she doesn't.

Not an issue going out though - at the first mention of supermarket or playground she high-tails it to her room, snatches up a full outfit and thrusts it at us expectantly Outside is very cold so she doesn't last more than a minute outside in 10 degree weather before she comes racing in demanding clothes on. But inside! This little naked person is a fixture of the house!

I'm sure its just a phase, she hasn't been doing it very long. Certainly saves washing lol

Anyone else have a toddler with silly dressing habits?

I don't have a naked toddler, but I did have a good chuckle at your daughter's reasoning that she shouldn't have to because the cat doesn't. That's very cute.

I'm no help either, but I do have to say she raises a good argument! I have images of your little nudie running through the house, and it seems so cute, although, must be a worry for you. Hope someone has some advice for you x

The cat is very influential. Baby's first word was 'cat', her favourite toy is a cat, and the cat is the Best Thing In The House. The cat was jealous when bubs first arrived and insisted on sitting on my lap every time I was breastfeeding, which didn't help the baby/cat imprinting process (or my nipples being stretched because she had to try and get the cat as she got older).

    Maybe I need cat-sized clothes ...

LOL that's quite an imaginative reason though! Maybe you could point out the cat does wear 'clothes', just his is fur and underneath it he has bare skin like she does?

LOL at her reasoning. My DD is very attached to our little cat and dog too. Even though she has an older sister, I think sometimes she feels like the furries are her peers and not the humans.

Make sure you write about this in a page of her babybook...priceless memory.

In the meantime, if you want her wear clothes, can I suggest some pussycat themed clothing or a furry little cat suit? LOL

Funny you should mention that, the one garment she's most likely to wear is a size 00 pink faux fur vest that I tried and failed to sell on ebay so is just drifting around the house - and it fits her!

With pink ugg boots and pink and white rabbit ears leftover from easter. Its quite the look.

Yup, well more of a near naked here!

DH tends to strip down to underwear as soon as he walks in (He is uncomfortable in work clothes) and DD has taken to copying him.
Now it is a habit of hers. Home, clothes off!

Today we went to the library for story time and she began stripping as the stories went on. Thank goodness she still needs my help for a few items as I was able to discuss and cajole her into keeping her pants on!

we too have a DD who insists on be Nakey!!! as soon as she learnt to take her clothes off, they have been off! Its getting cold here too but it doesnt seem to bother her. if she gets cold she will just jump in mummies bed for ten mins till shes warmed up again. The first thing she does when she wakes up in the morning, before ive even woken up, is take off her clothes. the first thing when we get in from an outing.
Luckily we live in QLD so its not too much of a problem, but i bet its cold in SA!!! I think a furry cat suit id a great idea!!

    lol- this takes me back
my twins were always whoo hoo- as they called being naked
they would come home from kindy- and take their clothes off and run around with little or nothing on- in the end i convinced them to keep their undies on as i was sick of seeing their twats!!

this phase lasted from when they were 2 years old until they started school - lol
even now DS often just wonders around with his boxers on when he is home from school
i have plenty of photos of them with nothing on except a winter coat or a hat- as they were cold - lol
    gotta love kids lol

I have a rudie, nudie here to (Miss 3) who is teaching her younger sister (Miss 19 months) how to take her clothes off too, so I have 2 rudie nudies running around. They don't seem to mind the cold but they refuse to stay dressed no matter what I do. I don't have any idea on how to get them to keep their clothes on but I do know they out grow it as their older brothers did We just make sure we have lots of photos to show them when they are older lol

Tonight Child Elder was complaning she had to turn the TV up to get over the noise of the heater. We told her just to turn off the heater and put more clothes on so she doesn't deafen us with the TV from the next room ...

Partner said "look at you, you're only wearing a t-shirt. I'm wearing THREE tops".
    I said "I'm wearing a jumper".
    Toddler says "I'm wearing naked!"
