    Is this normal??

Okay so when ds2 (8months) cut his first tooth the other week I thought that his poo smelt mouldy... it was weird and I decided it was just my nose playing tricks. But now he is about to cut his second tooth and his poo smells super mouldy again... it is foul. And this time it has given him the worst nappy rash aswell and it has turned fungal. I have him in sposies and have been heaping the sudocream and antifungal cream on him. The sudocream has gotten rid of the redness but the fungal part seems to be spreading even with the antifungal cream. Should I be worried that his poo smells like mould, an it seems pretty potent stuff, burning his bum so bad?? It is so weird, Ds1 never had mouldy smelling poos. But it does only seem to coincide with teething.

I'm not sure if it is 'normal' so to speak, but I'm pretty sure it is common for LO's to have stinky poos when teething and get really bad nappy rash as a result. If you normally use cloth nappies make sure you treat them because the fungus gets into them so it can keep reinfecting them iykwim? If you're worried trust your mummy instincts and maybe go see your MCHN or GP.

DD always got stinky poo and a red bum when she was cutting her early teeth, still does a bit now. i heard it was something to do with the stress of cutting teeth making thier tummies dodgy!! i always used paw paw cream on DD but never had a fungal problem. hope you get some better advice!

    Hi!
I'd pop him to the doc just to check. My bubs have always had the red bottom with teething but never a fungal thing. I hope it clears up soon for you and for him. Poor little thing. Teething sucks
