HELP! Could his Amber Teething Necklace be causing this??
DS has been wearing his amber teething necklace since Monday morning. Yesterday and today he has been awful! It's so unusual for him, I've never seen him like this before he's always the happiest little thing.
He's whinging almost constantly, won't bf to sleep (cries, throws himself around etc), which means he wont sleep at all so he's extreemly tired, and is just generally miserable.
Yesterday he woke up at 4 am and between then and 8:30 pm he had about 2 hours sleep when normally he'd have about 6 hours over the course of the day! Today he woke up at 4ish again maybe earlier and so far has had about 30mins sleep and spent 3 hours NOT sleeping and whinging, crying, screaming and throwing himself about. I cannot take another day of this!
I've taken the necklace off to see if it helps but I just don't know.
Do you think it's coincidence or could it be the necklace that's causing it?
I haven't been able to find any info about negative reactions... I'm hoping he wont be even worse with it off!
Any other ides why he might be behaving like this?
I would think it'd be extremely rare for it to cause a reaction completely opposite to what it is supposed to do?
I know mine took about 48 hours for it to start 'working' so it may not have even had time to start working, perhaps he's just in a really grumpy phase? I know that's probably not what you want to hear though! Lol. He doesn't have an ear infection or anything? If you can maybe take him to the dr and get him checked out? I know you only went the other day, but maybe it is something like that that is really upsetting him?
Hope you get a break soon...even if you just chuck him in the pram and go for a walk, even if he screeches the whole way at least you can get some fresh air and try to relax
hi, I don't have a bub yet to know but I agree with ss-storm that it would be unlikely that the necklace is causing it. Maybe try it again once bubs settles down again?
Ss-storm it was almost 48hours. That's why I thought maybe it was cause of the necklace. I put it on him Monday morning at about 10 and he started at about 8am on Wednesday. Nothing else has changed, the only other thing I can think of is that maybe his neck is sore? He slept with his head on my arm last night, it still doesn't explain Wednesday though....
We're out for a drive atm to get him to sleep, and it's working, just have to drive around for a while and use up fuel we don't really have . At least he's asleep though.
Goodness I hope it's not a phase.
Thanks Cherished1, I was thinking I should give it another go when he's back to normal, at least then I'll know if it's causing the trouble.

We went to the naturopath today as he was just miserable! He said he has a little bit of fluid in his right ear - so not quite an ear infection, but it would have been if we hadn't caught it so soon. He gave us some homeopathic drops to clear it up and some others to help with his teeth as he thinks, it is related to his teeth coming in.
that it clears up quickly, he's so upset and doing my head in
HELP! Could his Amber Teething Necklace be causing this??
The same thing happened with dd this week she got her necklace on Monday and was miserable on tuesday and wednesday but it turned out to be a tooth it came through last night. She has just got over an ear infection last week, which our gp thinks was related to her teething and it looks like there are three more teeth on the way. I have kept her necklace on, I don't think she has been as bad at night as normal.
I hope things clear up soon, i cant imagine the necklace would cause it. My dd has been wearing her necklace since around 5 months (shes about to turn 2) 24/7. I took it off a few months back and the next day she was very whingey and just completely not herself & agian the following day. It really had me stumped and all i could think was the necklace, put it back on her and she was back to herself. Her last teeth and just working their way through now so im going to be interested to see how she is once i remove it
He's doing much better, still a little grizzly but nothing like before. I put the necklace back on him yesterday I think? So I'll see how he goes. So far I dont think it's made the slightest difference.
