    An Itti Bitti question

How long are IB's supposed to last?

I have had DD in IB mediums for 6 months and have noticed that in a couple of them the elastic has lost tension around the legs and they are now leaking. They are always cold washed, sun dried, minimal washing powder, on a 3-4 day rotation so would have been used no more than 60 times. Is it something I am doing?

DD is nearly too big for the mediums now and I was about to get some large ones for her, but they really need to last until she is toilet trained and I am not sure they will make it if these ones are dying after only six months.

So how long have other people been using their Itti Bitti's for?

I have heard of the elastic in IBs going... I have heard of people getting free replacements too.

I only have one IB: extra large AIO. My 3yo still wears it as a night nappy if everything else has run out... it's lasted really well... over a year. I prefer my Imsey Vimsey though... the IB isn't as absorbant.

i would email the company and let them know.

i have had no issues with mine but have heard of them having problems.

as what bath said, some have been replaced for free.
but mine have been leaking and one the minky is pulling off the pul and leaking through.

Might sound like an odd question, but are you hanging them out on the line sideways or up and down? I ruined the elastic in one of my CT's pegging it from the top....

I've been using itti bittis on DD2 since she was a baby. She's just turned 2. None of mine have had this problem. Like Lolli has asked, how are you hanging them?

DD's IB are all good, she has been in the large for a few months, but her Mediums she was in for 12 months, elastic is all good on all of them.

I lay mine over the top of the clothes line or clothes horse, so there is no strain on the elastic and the weight of the booster is also supported by the line so there is no strain on the stitching for the booster as well.

IF your IB has delaminated they will replace it as well, I took mine to the stand at the expo and the replaced it right then. You could hear it crackling.

bit hard..elastic doesnt have a life long expectancy. If the elastic goes in your undies do you take them back????

in saying that the correct way to hang IB's is right through the body from top tp bottom..so it looks like the nappy is in half rise way and the leg elastic isnt being pulled down by gravity.

it would of been on your care instructions you would have recieved when you got your fluffy mail. if your in doubt hon...email Sue or one of the girls.

    Thanks for the replies.

I used IB's on DS and the elastic went on them after about a year but I thought it was the way I was hanging them so this time I have always dried them flat on the clothes horse.

I have talked to the IB NZ lady and she has offered to replace them, but I am more worried that it is something I am doing and will end up ruining the next size.
