Cape Trip. Who has done it?

i am so excited.. It is still in the early planning stages but August 2012 we are off to do the Cape trip

We pretty much know what we have to do to our car to get it there and at this stage a little undecided about taking the camper trailer or just tenting it

Has anyone on here done this trip?

We have done the Top End trip, just last year actually and it was fantastic. We bought back lots of wonderful memories.... we found out i was pregnant whilst on this trip so it was always going to bring lots of happy memories for us

My husband set up a you beaut camper trailer so we did the trip in that, i personally would prefer a camper trailer but thats just me...either way you will have the best time, take lots of pics and what ever you do DONT swim in the water once you get far fast Cairns .....croc infested

Did you guys take the Old Telegraph Track? We are planning to most of the way but won't be attemping Nolans Brook or Gunshot. So will take the development road around those ones..

Yeh the Crocs are one thing that concerns me but we hope to have the kids well and truly educated on that.. We have crocs here so they are pretty sensible so far.. Obviously not as many as up there though lol.. We went to the NT and they were great up there with listening near the water..

Dh wants to set the camper up a lot better for the trip. What did your DH do to your CT to get it up there no worries?
