Unhappy Fred has a lump on her chest...

Does anyone know if this is something to worry about. As I was feeding her last night I felt a lump between her nipple and armpit, and it is about 1cm x .5cm in size. It moves when I push it and it feels pretty hard. I do know that lumps under the nipples is common at birth but does anyone know anything about ones that appear later?

I tried feeling it this morning when she was awake and she pushed my hands away which indicates she doesn't like it but didn't cry in pain.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I work full time at the moment so I can't get her into the drs until friday.

it may just be a cyst hun or if further towards her armpit a swollen lymph glamd, i hope its nothing serious

Just a quick update, the lump seems to be under her right nipple, Dr has organised an ultrasound so we'll get that done during the week. We still have no idea what it is and now she seems to have a cold, cough, runny nose and the heart murmer. poor little poppet

Fred has a lump on her chest...

If it's under the nipple it could be hormonal dd1 had one under her nipple we kept an eye on her and it was checked by our dr at each checkup but it went away on it's own. She didn't have it when she was born, I think she was about four months. Hope you get answers soon.

Thanks black_rose, both DD's had lumps at birth that went away after a week or so but this suddenly apeared last week and it freaked me out a bit. Doing some research nearly all of these are hormonal but normally at a younger age. I hope it is nothing too.

Thanks Olive. We saw the paediatrician for her heart murmer and he checked that out too. He said it was just normal breast tissue and it wasn't anything unusual, so not to worry about it. Very glad

I've only just seen this...glad everything is ok. Pie has a lump under her left nipple, GP didn't seem too concerned. she was more worried about her head circ (which it turns out is ok) but I will be getting her to check again at her 12 mth check.
she has given you enough to worry about Cat!
