Can you put a blanket or something underneath them so they don't slip on the carpet? Or do you have some offcuts of the carpet you could lay down underneath? I dunno...there's plenty of things for stopping them to slip on hard floors! Lol
Hi ladies,
I have a rug in both DD's and DS's room which always move and it drives me nuts when they are off centre lol!
The rugs are sitting on carpet and they have a rubber backing. They don't move when they're on a vinyl surface, just carpet.
Any ideas on how I can make them non slip?
TIA!!

What about those stickers for underneath (double sided). I am sure they would have ones for caret as well.
Yeah that would work.
I just found this for stopping rugs slipping on carpet.
Double-Sided Tape
Step 1-Begin by measuring your rug with your tape measure; measure both the length and the width, and record these measurements on paper for reference.
Step 2- Measure 3 inches in from the perimeter of your rug, and apply strips of tape along the entire length of the width and the width.
Step 3-Once you have applied the tape, press the rug down against the floor so that it is firmly adhered.
Velcro tape
Step 1-Apply the scratchy side of the tape to your floor, sticky side down. This should, again, be measured at 3 inches in from where the edge of the rug will be.
Step 2- Apply the soft side of the Velcro on the rug, 3 inches in from the edge.
Step 3 -Position the rug over the tape on the floor so that the two sides of the Velcro are directly opposite each other. Press down on the rug so that the Velcro bonds.
You can buy this non-slip stuff, it's like a bumpy soft rubber mesh, from places like clark rubber (I've seen small packets at places like spotlight but depending on size of rug, they may not be big enough). You just cut it a tiny bit smaller than the rug, line it up and it pretty much stays stuck to the back of the rug. Easy peasy.
I bought a big roll of the stuff Marydean is talking about from the Reject Shop. Its like those little grip towel things you use to open jars. I just cut it to the size of the mat in the lounge room, put it under, dont even need to stick it, and it doesnt move an inch.
I was wondering about that stuff - I recently lined my cupboards with it.
Awesome idea ladies - thanks :-)
