My puppy doesnt like my garden

My dog, Bailey is a year and a half old now.. And we have a bit of a problem..
She hates new plants in the garden! We have lots of trees and veges, but most were there when we got her.
I have tried planting a few new plants and she rips them out within a day and it is REALLY frustrating me!
My mum bought me a blueberry plant, I covered it for a while so she would get used to it without ripping it out, but then she ripped off the cover and pruned it really well, then ripped it out and ate it.
Last year I got a very expensive plant for an aunt as a christmas present, and we put it in a pot with decorations and we put it on our decking..11pm christmas eve, she ripped out the plant and smashed the pot. even though it had been there for 3 weeks!
And the latest.. I got 2 chilli plants, first day she ate all the chillis off them (about 12 chillis all up!!), thought the nasty poops would scare her off, nope, the next day she ate all the leaves, and third day she dug them up and ate them, roots and all!
Soo.. Anybody have any suggestions? My front yard is getting all my good plants because I am scared of her eating them!
    TIA!!

Our dog did it everytime my mum fertilised her plants with horse manure... He obviously loved the taste and smell! The only thing that stopped him digging up all the plants was ... pepper. Not the cracked pepper, but the really fine powdered pepper. She sprinkled it over the plants and when our doggie sniffed the plants (to look for the manure) he had really bad sneeze attacks. He never tried it again.

This might not work with your doggie, considering she eats chillies!!! Maybe she won't even care about the pepper. Or maybe she will thank you for 'seasoning' her planties!

I think it might be the smell of the fresh turned dirt that he likes not the plants.
Maybe you can distract him by using an old clam as a digging pit for him. Put some dirt in there and maybe stash a chewy toy or 2 there or even a bone.
Then put a ton of pepper around any new plants.

Our dog ate a rose bush that was in a pot...the poor thing has struggled to survive ever since but there are still always a couple of green leaves hanging on there!

Could it be partly from boredom? Does she have lots of toys to play with, bones and kongs, and exercise to tire her out? Bit weird that she targets new plants though, could be the smells in the upturned dirt? Or she just doesn't like your landscaping abilities

Thanks girls! Will try he pepper one, havnt done that yet! She has lots of toys, but probably is a little bored, that could be why she is doing it, she is a very energetic dog!
    Thanks again!
