Wet Bags for MCN's?

Hi,

I'm looking for large wet bags for cloth nappies. I need it to hold 15 or more. My plan is to use them instead of the nappy buckets - so i'd like them to be zip up too, to help contain smells.

I have found some on EcoBumbino- some planet wise ones, but just want to make sure there ain't any others out there to choose from.

Hey, you could try a camping store. They have these long cylindrical bags that are waterproof and you just roll the top of the bag down as far as you need and then there are clips on either side so it clips shut (in a circle kind of shape). It makes them airtight and reasonably water proof - can't smell the nappies inside til you open it to put the next one in I can't remember what they're called but they are "Sea to Summit" brand. They come in different sizes (I use 20L ones when out and about with DS and when he goes to daycare) and colours. They are reasonably cheap for the quality and the amount of use I've given them. We've been away and used cloth too and they can definitely hold 15 or more nappies.

I have a HUGE swaddlebees bag that I'm no longer using if you are interested? Its not a zip up one, its a drawstring one, but omg, it holds about 20 nappies its that bloody big.. lol

Baby behinds makes a big one, I just saw a friend using it the other day, Would definitely suit your needs and is a zip up.

Kaz- thanks for that- i'll have a look. Do you know if they can be washed with the nappys? I'm looking for easy to maintain too (since I have 2 in cloth at the moment)?

Arimeh- did you find the smells are pretty well contained with the drawstring still? If so- then yeah- might take you up on the offer. How much you want for it?

Polly- I've already got 2 baby beehinds wetbags, the ones i have only hold 6-8 (its the purple one). Do you know if the one your friend has holds more? If so- do you know where she got it? I love the baby beehinds ones- but the ones I've got are just not big enough for home use, but its perfect for out and about.

Any other suggestions out there?

I had a similar thought to Arimeh..those Swaddlebees Bin Liners/laundry bags would probably almost be the biggest bag on available I'd say. They may not be as effective as nappy buckets but I'm sure they would do fair job.

I was going to suggest these, as these are what I use and YES! they can be washed in the washing machine with the nappies. I just turn them inside out and chuck them in. I also chuck them in the dryer with the nappies if needs be and they have survived.

Lee- yeah, i'm thinking the swaddlebee would be a great size for my DS2- since i go through more nappies with him- the bigger the better! As for the smell- its all gotta be easier having bags i can quickly wash with the nappies then to try to wash the buckets (our laundry is downstairs and i find it takes alot of coordination with my 2 year old and 4month old especially now that its winter and when its raining- DS1 always wants to come downstairs but doesn't want to go back up).

Winter- Thanks for that- i will pop over to the camping store later in the week to check them out. I will need a few bags anyway- one for DS1, one for DS2, then one or 2 between washing/drying- so the cheaper the better!
